Taking care of your health means more than just looking after your body. Unfortunately, many of us focus all our attention on the physical side of the health and neglect the mental side. Because of this, over an individual’s life, they are likely to develop some sort of mental health disorder. However, there’s no need to worry. Just like one’s physical health, mental health can be improved and maintained simply with regular effort. Our goal at Insight Into Action Therapy is to assist you in becoming the healthiest version of yourself by turning your insights into action. Our insightful therapists are trained in a variety of mental health techniques and have vast experience across numerous mental health issues. Thus, our Virginia mental health treatment programs can deliver the resources necessary to help you and your loved ones live a full and healthy life.
Our Virginia Mental Health Treatment Programs
At two locations in Virginia, Insight Into Action Therapy can offer numerous mental health therapy programs and behavioral health treatment programs. One area of particular interest to many clients and one of our strengths is relationship counseling.
Relationships can often be harmed by faulty interactions, whether intentional or non-intentional. At Insight Into Action Therapy, we customize your couples counseling to help you identify and learn to meet each other’s needs. Our experienced therapists, who specialize in relationship counseling, will help you determine the frequency of sessions you may need to achieve your goal of repairing your relationship the fastest. Because an hour a week may not be enough, we also offer extended and intensive sessions. These sessions are available in person as well through telehealth virtual appointment. This can mean meeting for longer sessions or meeting several times per week. Intensive weekend sessions can also be helpful if work or travel schedules are difficult.
Other Therapeutic Services
Our Virginia mental health treatment programs use a variety of therapies to help clients overcome their substance use disorders and/or their mental health issues. For instance, some of these therapies include:
Motivational interviewing:
This treatment confronts indecision and uncertainty allowing individuals to move towards positive decision-making while setting and accomplishing goals.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT):
This talk therapy focuses on negative thinking and negative self-image attempting to root out these thoughts and ideas and turn them towards positive, productive thinking.
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT):
A variation of cognitive-behavioral therapy where clients spend a good deal of time examining their emotions and emotional reactions in various situations to work on expressing themselves more appropriately and healthily.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment:
Often individuals struggling with substance use disorder also have underlying mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorder, or post-traumatic stress disorder. When this is the case, it is necessary to treat both addiction and mental health issues simultaneously. Doing so not only lowers the risk of relapse but contributes to the whole health of the individual.
Mindfulness:
Using practices like meditation and breathing exercises, mindfulness therapy teaches clients how to break away from negative thought patterns before they lead to mental health issues. Also, it raises an individual’s awareness of themselves and others in their current moment and environment.
