Chris Leibowitz,


Chris is a therapist at Insight to Action Therapy and is also an advocate in the recovery community in Northern Virginia. Chris believes that every individual struggling can achieve their goals when receiving the support that they need. Chris is currently a Supervisee in Clinical Social Work and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Chris received his bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and his master’s degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. He has been a provider of substance use and mental health treatment for the last decade in direct care and supervisory roles. His clinical framework utilizes a mixture of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Recovery and Empowerment. Chris prides himself on establishing a therapeutic connection with individuals of any age and meeting people where they are.

Chris grew up and currently lives in Northern Virginia. He loves baseball and played for McLean High School in his glory days. He currently plays in an over-the-hill adult rec league and serves as a Head Coach in a local Babe Ruth league for young players transitioning to the big field. He is also a volunteer for Fairfax County’s Road Dawg initiative where he speaks with teenagers who are at-risk for gang involvement and other behavioral issues. He is also a volunteer with several recovery organizations.
